If it truly reads like a thank you written to that person (ex: Dear Congressperson Doe, Thank you so much for your support for X, a cause dear to my heart), that wouldn't bother me. If it reads more like a lesson for other readers (dear Congressperson Roe, Thank you for your support for cause X. As you know, cause X affects millions of people a year due to etc, etc), then I'd find it annoying, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it.Coleslawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06813319585807128092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5877872196122597956.post-35938135410447134602011-10-09T03:58:12.406-07:002011-10-09T03:58:12.406-07:00I'm curious - the only time I've posted a ...I'm curious - the only time I've posted a (non-sarcastic) open letter online it was (1) really and truly a letter that I put pen to paper and wrote ans sent via snail mail to the person (2) who I had actually met in person (with a name tag). Plus, it was actually both a heartfelt statement of thanks to that person and directly related to one of the major topics I blog about.

Does that make it less of a pain, in your opinion, or is it still annoying? I'm okay with either answer, just wondering.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5877872196122597956.post-53467561936631242682011-10-08T20:12:10.167-07:002011-10-08T20:12:10.167-07:00I feel the same way!
